Bubbling Growth was selected for the Benoit Mandelbrot Fractal Art Contest 2007 exhibition. I'm very pleased with the overall organic non-fractal look and the light warm colors that remind me of the first warm sunny days at the springtime.It is a rework of a masking exercise from Janet Parke's UF masking course I took last year. I made several rework versions of the original image during the winter and this last one last summer. The coloring techniques I used to create the tree structure and its texture are thoroughly discussed in my M.Sc. thesis that can be found from my gallery site.
