What a wonderful way to illustrate the dangers of global warming! I took a look at your β€œMaking of Sinking Earth”; even though I’ve never used Maya or any other 3D applications, looking at how you put your image together fascinated me. Beautiful work!

Fabulous! I love the clean clarity of the water juxtaposed with the globe! Might I suggest a globe that looks more like a natural earth though? This piece is great, it just is slightly spoiled by the globe's mapping. Otherwise, you are so truly talanted!

Thanks I might someday make a version with phororeal earth textures (and more bubbles!), but borders are really part of the problem...

as to borders... our species hasn't outgrown tribalism - us vs them...
And think only a hundred miles or so of coastal communities should expect to be lost... that is - a hundred miles inland - for every coast. Some islands are already under...

This is really awesome. Beautifully done. Sigh Maya. It's like learning brain surgery hehe.

But yeah we need to get out heads out of our asses. Or your deviation will be very prophetic.

I use Maya because I can't draw... If I could draw, I wouldn't have to model, texture and render everything, it's so time consuming

ahh.. niiiice..
and quite elegant too
the one thing i'm not sure that i like about it is.. borders.. if you want to talk about global isues you should remember that borders are man made.. and we should forget about borders when it comes to saving the whole planet..
but i like the idea.. simple.. but gets the message to my brain

The borders were included on purpose... I think borders are part of the problem. "We" don't do anything because "they" don't do anything, at least this is how some leaders see things. My other choice for texturing was using NASA imagery, but then I would be sinking a real planet and that's not realistic . Now I am only sinking a small map globe without pedestal..

ahh.. cool..i get your point..
i like it when artist can stand for his actions... i'm so tired of people who do art without having any motication in it...
borders realy are part of the problem..
