Thank you so much! I have to say this shot was pure luck, I was at the zoo and they had a house full of butterflies but they would constantly flow away, then they'd spray water, it was hot inside, etc etc. Right before I was about to leave I found this little fella sitting on the ground so of course I had to get on all fours (which is just awesome when the floor is wet

hey, never thought of asking you, what camera/lens do you use for your macro/closeups?
as for the butterfly name, there seems to be a distinct lack of websites displaying pics of insects - which makes it difficult to identify what you've photographed.. unless you know an entomologist..
..he's probably only created minor storms elsewhere with those wings!

I use a Nikon D60 + kit lens (Nikkor 18-55mm) + macro filters which are cheap and easy to use!

I think this is an Aurore (Anthocharis cardamines), a male one.
