Unique ice build up formed after a large storm brought intense winds. Spray from the waves reached this small pine tree and covered it in a thick blanket of ice that simply blew me away This winter has most certainly not given us much for snow, but ice is another situation. The ice formations above are always a pleasure to see, so I am quite happy that this winter has been displaying many strange formations on the shores of the Great Lakes. I hope everyone enjoys this photograph! Go outside and find some of this strange ice before it is all gone!Technical Details: Canon 7D, Canon 10-22mm lens (@11mm), ISO 100, F/11, Blend of two images.

Very interesting. I love the shapes in the ice and the sliver of warm light really helps set this apart. Amazing to see a tree with this much ice on it.
