things i used to believe, but my eyes are not wide shut anymore:i scream I LOVE YOU into
the mirror and don't believe
it. one blink for no. two
blinks for this is enough this
is enough and i don't want
it anymore.
i open up an envelope to
find a goldfish and your
sad-eyes. i changed my
mind. i changed my mind
because an umbrella and
a dying tree is not the
same thing.
and where did you get
those cuts on your hand?
he called back late. or maybe
he just never showed up
at all. maybe he was
just never there
at all.

just wanted to show you some other stuff i've been working on lately. i loooove painting! =] and i've never been so inspired before in my life. i've gotten over all the things i used to believe that weren't worth believing.

The poem is beautifully expressive. It reminds me a lot of that empty space left when you and another are in love and then it ends. when it ends, all that time, passion, effort and beauty seem to have no meaning anymore, its like something stuck in the past that doesn't reach you any longer, and it hurts because it was such a huge part of you beforehand.
It always reminds me of delusions of love, especially. People can believe in anything, even if the parties involved don't believe at all.

Can I comment only on the little poem below? I want to, but I don't want to comment on the picture. It's abstract, and beautiful on it's own merits, and I feel like I'd be forcing myself to examine something which should be allowed speak for itself.

I'm interested myself. I'm envious. Jealous even - I wish I had your creative drive. Instead my motivation lays in waste, while I try to figure out why I'm so excited about writing, and yet incapable of doing so...
I wouldn't call my ability to see the changes in you amazing. You didn't do much to hide it, and I tend to notice these things. Though recently I'm realising I pay an awful lot (probably an inappropriate amount) of attention to the personalities of people I like and respect. Peoples lives interest me, what can I say?
Also, these days, to keep my brain active, I keep playing rhyming games with words, and so I found myself smiling when I read "[i did write it really quickly though, all in one go, no stopping just to let you know!]".
I think it's interesting that you're moving on into a happier lifestyle for yourself, and yet the poem (which you say you wrote without stopping, so I know it's more personal) is one that definitely isn't happy. I hope that the sadness in it is in your past - certainly seems to be anyway.

This is so true of anyone with low self-esteem, the image is perfect, but heart-breaking. I can actually see my past self doing this exact thing, though I never have, and it would just be silly if I did. Great image though. The complete lack of caps apart from the words "I LOVE YOU" is a beautiful touch.

These are hilarious, heart-breaking, deeply thought provoking words. We make the world out of dreams and what we want things we want them to be, but it doesn't change the fact that we are the ones who change the world, and an umbrella and a dying tree is not the same thing.
I feel uncomfortable reviewing a poem that isn't even part of the work in question, so I'm going to stop now...
