So here's Juliana's second failed attempt to color using her Copic markers... *cries*It came out quite nice but I really don't understand how to color fur just yet... while trying to color this yesterday ~Boneitis and ~chewibunny started telling me how it's too saturated and I was going crazy trying to figure out why and then it's because my lightest shade of brown is the one on her... so yeah... it was crazy @___@
I do like how it came out but I'm hoping to do sooooo sooo much better later on as I keep using my copics (THANK YOU SUMMER... now I have time to use em ;___; ). Also I have to learn how to SCAN colored pieces.. I think she looks a bit weird the way I scanned her.... anybody help?
And lastly... I don't like the marker paper I used for this... It's all right but after I left the drawing out all night it got sooo much darker and also it does something kindah weird to the color once it starts to dry out so yeah... what do you guys use with copics?
Well hopefully tomorrow I'll have the second part done AND my two commissions finished so YAY go me

I love, and always go back to working on smooth color copy cardstock paper. it's pretty cheap and takes marker, ink, pencil, and a little bit of watercolor. You can usually get it in an Office Depot/Max or some equivalent office supply store in the printer paper section.

then just look for 40-60 or so pound smooth bright white paper. I'm sure a good chunk of paper in that category will work happily with copics.

LOL!!! Man... Last time I tried mine was back during winter... I think that if it had been longer then that I would have seriously had WAAAYYY more problems doing this one then I actually had... and it was still hard @___@

Aww this is so adorable! ;o; I love how her face came out, and you did an excellent job on the pose! Her eyes are really pretty and I think you did an excellent job with the shading.

sooo cute! you're getting so good jubz X3 for some reason the part i noticed the most was on her like...cheeky fluff how it fades from that reddish brown to the yellower pinky color<3<3<3 i duno why i just looove how that looks hehe. you're good with gradient! @w@

Oh man that was so hard to do..... I only used these markers like... once and a half before xD!!! So there's still so much to learn with them! But I'm glad you liked that detail! Makes me happy specially coming from someone like you who colors so damn well *___*

Im using Zig Marker Paper, It costs a bundle but its brilliant! I only use it for doing my BEST work as 50 sheets is around £5.80 o_o Failing that I use Goldline Marker Paper which is good for more roughing sketches. Copics can be a little OOT in my opinion though when it comes to the ink, thats why they run out so quickly 
Fornow I suggest you might want to get some nicer marker paper. Zig. Goldline. They are two very good makes but I live in England so they might not sell em there

Well the paper I'm using right now is specially FOR markers but I really don't like it.... little tiny white dots start to surface after it starts to dry out.. I know that with copics a lot of people use cardstock actually and that always surprised me because it's actually cheap.. so I'll give that a try sometime... hopefully that will work.

My friend said I should have made the line-art black... I dunno I like it like this. But the fluff on her nose I accidentally learned how to do that with a friend and i love how it works ;___; And for her eyes I did something different this time and I liked it waaaaay better then what I did on the other copic picture. Layers are our friends xD

Its hard to get Copics down Julie but I agree with Mad, it looks pretty darn good for just getting the hang of it.
