I guess there was another thing to be added in the 'stuff I love about your paintings' list of before (because that kinda was what the comment about haha) - they actually look like photos. Just the fact that you deliberately got in the camera blur which is sadly all too common in low lighting winter conditions, it just fantastic. Background is just YESS (it's easy to underestimate the impact such a ridiculously realistic background can have on a painting - or is it actually a photo? If so, kudos for integrating it so well

Thank you! I love photography, so I try to integrate as many elements of it as possible in my illustration, including the camera blur (which I actually love using). The background is actually painted as well, just a bunch of blue and some tree brushes which look surprisingly realistic after a little blurring (one of the reasons I love that so much in fact - you can't see the faults!). Oh, blurring indeed can do wonders. The sloppiest of paintjobs can instantly turn into almost photorealistic backdrops with a good dose of that
