Description
So this is my design for the very first king The Pridelands had. His name is "Taji" ("Crown" in Swahili, reference to his future life as a king)

As expected, he wasn't born in The Pridelands. He was from a far, very far away land and was the prince of the pride (his father as the king) So yeah, The Pridelands wasn't the only land with monarchy. His parents were very caring and sweet with him. They taught Taji everything he needed to know about the circle of life and monarchy.
Taji always helped every animal he saw in trouble and he always tried his best to never use violence.

With time, his parents died and he became the king. He then decided to go on a journey along with his pride (very small pride, him and three lionesses) to change of land, because he felt there was something better out there.
The journey wasn't easy of course, almost every place they wanted to stay was taken by other prides. These prides were very closed, meaning they didn't allow any more lions.

After a few months Taji and his pride found a weird big looking rock and it was empty. No animals nearby. This had a reason, actually. Back then, The Pridelands was very poor. No vegetation, no water. Taji felt terrible to see such good place in that condition; so he decided to bring life back to that place. Of course his pride thought this idea was crazy and impossible, but his heart felt otherwise.

It was a tough process. For months The Pridelands remained the same, no change. But Taji never gave up, he kept on visiting other prides nearby, searching for help and he helped others in ex-change. So, yeah, it took a while and a lot of patience, but the land began to shine again. The Priderock was surrounded by green (trees, grass), any types of flowers. Taji welcomed every animal to his land; from a small ant to a big elephant.

He was highly respected and loved by a lot of prides, who visited him once in a while. He had several cubs with many lionesses. Before he died, he shared his knowledge with his cubs and pride as well. He made sure The Pridelands stayed in good paws even after death.

To give you a reference, Taji is Mohatu's grandfather.
