Description The cherry blossoms fly past my face as I am walking along with my childhood friend at the Cherry Blossom Festival. She is wearing a plain pink yukata, which while it sounds kind of lame, considering it was made of, it's nothing to scoff at. She didn't look half bad in it either.

She runs up ahead of me and teased me a bit to catch on up. I guess I should then.

Yeah, story is lame. It was what popped into my head at the time.

------------------------------

Made in honor of the Cherry Blossom Festival at Japantown in San Francisco, I present... Cherry Blossoms. At a festival. Who knew.

If you're within the area this Sunday, there's an Anime Parade. It should be weeaboo-tastic. I'm bringing popcorn.

The yukata is plain because when looking for references to draw this, commonly the yukata looked like they were mass produced and had "special designs" on them. So, I raise a stern middle finger to them and present a plain, (intended to look) well made yukata.

I was actually thinking of making the setting a night festival, which actually would make more sense. But then coloring would be a chore, so light background it is~.

BG is pretty weak admittedly. Gaussian Blur is my friend today. But not sure how to better emulate what I had in my mind other than that. Maybe would've tried more if fucking Photoshop would work with my tablet better.

Other than that, this is the best thing I've done. So uh, hopes to getting better.

Tip: Never do LineArt Layers if you plan to convert to psd and work in Photoshop. For some reason, the width of the line doesn't exactly carry over that well.

------------------

Also, first piece completed with a tablet, so please go easy on this (you probably won't though).

But yeah, critique anything other than the BG and we're good (it's better than pure white, right?)

Credits to for the Cherry Petal Brushes. They're good so long as you know how to manipulate brushes in Photoshop.

---------------------

Also, if anyone has used Illust Studio, can you tell me how that is? Snagged from a Pixiv Quarterly that I got at WonderCon, and I want to know if it's any better than Sai + Photoshop.

Wall of Text ftw.
