I take that as a compliment

It is a compliment, my most dearest friend.

A while after I gave the compliment though, I was thinking of one of the bacterial human descendants becoming part of a drug that gives humans desirable mutations, but after overusing too much of it though, the addicts would become turn into parasites similar to the flood from halo.

Externally they haven't kept much of their features except nostrils and the hand which is used to photosynthesize...

It would seem simpler to begin with a photosynthetic neoplasia than a whole human. The end result being similar to lichen or macroalgae though differentiation instability would induce "sprouting" of patches of hair, teeth and other "bits" on some places. But why bother when you have much less disturbing and health friendly cyanobacteria.
But, hey it's your design and it is interesting.
