Yes I played the game and liked it too. I have not played the original Castlevania games so I don't know why other people don't like it as much. If it changes what it was based on it is understandable, but the game is still beautiful and fun.

Ive actually played the older games, and i can understand how alot of people wouldnt have liked it,It was a completely new story, with a new character, and personally it would have been beautiful to see them make a castlevania game with the older characters. But as a game on its own, it was as you said, beautiful and fun, and i appreciated it! Im anticipating the second game they are making!

I know there is going to be 2 dlc pieces coming within a few mounths. I think they are in response to the epilouge. Weather there is a sequel or if it is just going to be dlc, anything that is in response to the concept of the epilogue is going to be fun. Please tell me if you beat the game so I can avoid spoilers.
