My best friend and I ended up designing our own Separated AU for the Rise boys, where Splinter managed to rescue Donnie and Leo while Raph and Mikey were left to be raised by Draxum. The disaster twins have been hunting for their missing brothers in the Hidden City ever since they were big enough to go alone, and as such are much more familiar with the mystic world of the yokai than their canon counterparts.
