well I like it not perfect the colors aren't as define, like the dark needs to be a little bit darker, unless you were going for more of a purple-ish shade.

the more I look at this piece, the more I find to see. the yellow eyed face at the top pops out the most, cause it has the brightest colors, and I noticed out of the corner of my eye that there was a girl held in something's claws near the bottom.
Now I see that the claws are wings, so I guess what I thought was binding her made her free. Or the representation of freedom bound her. Either way, it's very symbolic

I think you've done a great job. All the coulors are nicely ballenced causing the eye at the top to really stand out.

oh, holy crap.
even though you may have thought that it didn't look very good, i'd like to say the opposite. your subtle colouring really did work very well for this piece.
i do love how you kept it looking like it was still just an inked piece (the dark purples that are ruling the image) but just the touch of colours in smaller sections of the image. i love her eye, by the way.
and i do like the small purple "dust-orbs" you've added. somehow, for me, they make me look at the picture from the bottom first, then scan my eyes upward to the top. the image only makes sense to me that way but i might just be weird.
i really like it.
but it doesn't make the inked piece any bad. if i had money, i'd grab both as a "print"/copy and hang both on my wall.

actually, when I was painting this piece,
I had brighter/bluer perple,
but didn't quite feel right.
so I muted the color and add red on it.
I wasn't sure abouth this change, but
it seems like worked for you.
and, I got several positive comments on this,
so I guess I keep this piece this way

This is awesome! I love the values and shading in this piece. Very much.

I seriously love the somewhat monotone/washed out feel of this with everything shaded towards the red/gray side with just that vivid splash of yellow in the eye and the deeper red of the uppermost character as well as the sort of glowing highlights on the wings of the fallen angel character. It wasn't at all what I was expecting when I saw the line art and it is, in fact, twice as awesome as what I thought it'd look like. Well done.
