*is not obsessed with scene to the point where she had a phase where she read it over and over before she went to sleep....*This is a no-ref sketch of the scene where Dain and Numair first kiss. It is my "concept" sketch for my entry in the current contest.
I'm so excited!!!!!
Sorry I've been on the DL lately. I'm doing JulNoWriMo this month so I'm a little preoccupied.

I was completely oblivious as a child and didn't realize anything before this scene. XD Then the scene came and everything just clicked with one loud YES. It's all just so perfect! And you captured it perfectly too.

I read it after I'd read all but the Circle books so I'd read enough to know that eventually there'd be a pairing of them, although when it happened I hadn't expected it to happen at that moment xD

ooooooohhh, I see. Ya, I still haven't read the Circle books. My mortal fault is my inability to pick up a book and just read it. I have to read a couple chapters, put it down, and return to it in a couple months.
I'm a little over due though, I think I put down the first circle book about a year ago XD

I've been reading Pierce for nearly 5 years and it took me that long to finally get around to it as I just recently read it a few months ago, but once I start a book usually I can't put it down if the story is even half-decent, I'm a mega-nerd that way xD

Ahh yes! This is one of my favorite scenes, and I've tried to draw it countless times, but to no avail! You captured it perfectly, including emotion and movment. Nice job!!!!!

OH MY GOSH THANK YOU! I've tried so many times to draw this since I've read the book. Even today when I was doing some "prelim" sketches I had to do 6 poses before I was satisfied with this one.
It's also the first kiss I've EVER drawn so when I was sketching I was all, "Hm, okay... where do noses go when people kiss?"

I know! I would always tell my sisters how much I absolutely love this seen (for about two years now) and just two weeks ago did one of them bring up that "Julia, why are you in love with a porno scene?"
WHAAAAAT? BOTH of them thought Daine was naked in this scene. Even my friend did. It took some simple convincing (pg 163, bottom paragraph) to prove that both Numair AND Daine were fully clothed.
