Description
I wanted to create a bad ass antagonist to a story. I came up with this dude. All he has is a pistol and his wits. Wouldn't wanna come up against this dude in a dark place:}I was going for a Janusz Kaminski look (photographer for most of Spielberg's films.) I'm happy with how the glow cam out, but I still gotta work it out....

Very cool man! I like it...I dig the glow...Maybe if there was a little less as it gets lower down...I'm not sure though. I think it looks cool...Nice job on the fabric.

Thanks dood, good idea on the lighting. I think now I'm learning to add more story to my art, like he's standing in front of window, we can't see it, but if the light would have lessened near the bottom, we'd have felt that more... Good call:}

Man, honestly, I was just messing around. The first thing I tried was using a really washed out gray color with the opacity set to about 8%. I then messed around with the filter> render> lighting affects settings. But that didn't work so well. So then I selected the figure, feathered the figured at about 50 pixels (select tab> feathering) and then inversed the selction and filled the background in with white. Because I feathered it, it looks like there's a glow behind him. I think that's what I did.

Don't mention it man. I don't know how much I helped:} Usually, when I want to do something like that, which I don't really do all that often, I mess about to get what I want. The thing that I didn't like about my pic was how uniform the glow was on the edges. Usually, when something glows, it's really really soft on the edges. Mine was like a line right where the glow ended, at least that's how it feels to me.
