Occupation: Nothing, very much like Wander. He tries to play the guitar alongside Wander’s harmonica, but even after having lessons with the little colt, his skills are still… not good. Sells “potions” (which is actually just water in bottles mixed in with food coloring) to get some more money.

Personality: Don't let his calm voice fool you, Magna is many things but he definitely isn't the voice of reason. He is lazy, someone who would rather lay down on the grass and bathe in the warmth of the sunlight, rather than go out of his way to do something productive or find new friends. He is someone who enjoys a smaller company, he doesn't like being alone (you have no idea how many times Wander found him talking to himself or to bugs if he left Magna alone for more then a day) but he also gets overwhelmed with a bigger group of people, never knowing who to focus on, getting drained from all his energy if he is forced into a big group. It's not that be minds being alone either, sometimes it's even welcomed, but Magna doesn't know what to do with himself a lot of the times. He grew up with a sister, younger by barely 2 years. The two were always tied to each other, being their own best friends. It was a huge shift for him, going from having a family he spends every hour of the day with, to traveling alone, so excuse him for being a bit of a mess. He doesn't really bother thinking what was, what will be or about what-ifs, he is very down to earth and focuses on the now, which also results in him listening to his heart rather than his head or reason. He doesn't really think of the consequences of his actions nor does he take anything too seriously, rather just going with the flow. He has that showbusiness charm, knowing how to make others interested in the things he talks about, which makes his "potion" selling even more of a success! He loves making jokes and pranking others, either they are annoyed, which is hilarious to Magna, or they will laugh along and Manga can say he made someone happy. So it's a win-win either way. He is actually very good at calming others down, that includes himself. Magna is the annoying older brother type, that much is very obvious, but he has that calming, safe presence that you don't really notice until you hit your lowest and he is there to pick you right back up. He isn't protective, he isn't the older brother type you often read about in books, the brave brother who would fight monsters for you until his last breath, but that doesn't make him less of an amazing older brother figure, to both his sister, Wander and any small child he has met on his travels. Even for his lazy personality, Magna is very easy to love, even if Wander would never admin it upfront.

-Because of the small share of bat pony genes, Magna possesses the ability to see in the dark and amazing hearings. But, just as well, it makes him extremely sensitive to bright light and loud noises. He never really talks about it much, choosing to overcome it and ignore the ringing in his ears if someone is just a tad bit too loud. He still prefers when people whisper around him, though.

-Took after Trixie and gained her “broken” magic. It’s no real surprise, really, it’s a known fact that those who aren’t pure-blooded unicorn have often troubles with their magic, Magna’s younger sister was just very lucky and took after Starlight and her pure-blooded family tree. Still, it isn’t anything bad and he can still do simple spells but, if he doesn’t concentrate, things will blow up. That’s a warning.

-Magna has a very weird relationship with his name. For starters, it never felt completely right. Nor did it feel like it fit him, or that he deserved it. His legal name is correlated with magic, Trixie and Starlight couldn’t help themselves and named their little bundle of joy after a spell that was very important to both of them. Of course, when it was clear Magna took after Trixie and her magical history, the pride he took in his name started to fade over the years. Not right away, it took time but, the more and more he thought about it, especially in his teenage years, he really started to dislike his name. So, Magna it was, his family respects it. He is planning to change his legal name much like Wander, he will get around to it eventually.

-Magna does, in fact, call his mothers by nicknames or their names. It was never really “ma” or “mom”, not that he can remember. Their family was always very open to anything, never bothering with the “normal” family standards, so calling them by their names always seemed fitting. The moms absolutely adore it, both having their fair share of… unhappy feelings with the word “mother” in it itself. So, it’s actually better for them this way too.

-Magna is actually a very big jokester, always ready to do pranks on random creatures. To be perfectly honest, Manga can’t exactly get in trouble if he and Warden are always moving, so why not use that? Besides, who’s a little joke gonna hurt? In reality, maybe his jokes are what some creatures need! Life is super boring, some mischief is needed, wouldn’t you agree?

-Magna left for his travels at the age of 16, staying around a little bit longer then he planned to to help with his family’s shows, cleaning and such. He honestly has no clear reason for leaving, if you asked him he would simply say “I just wanted to see the world!”. But even he isn’t sure if that’s the truth. There was never any reason, he doesn’t think, one day his heart just told him to go, so he did. That’s all there is to it. Travelling seemed like a cool thing to do anyway.

-He sents quite a lot of letters home, a lot of souvenirs as gifts too, mostly for his little sister since his mothers told him kindly multiple times the only gift they want is for him to visit (okay, Starlight was the one to say it, more or less, but Trixie nodded along. Still, Magna sents some gifts for Trix from time to time too, he knows she likes them). He is sure to come home for Hearth’s Warming Eve, birthdays, and sometimes because he is close to Canterlot. He always makes sure to stay for at least 3 days, sometimes longer.

-He sees Wander as a little brother, that much is pretty obvious to anyone who has ever met them, even his family can see it from the few times Wander decided to come along for the visits. Magna wouldn’t say he is protective, he never really was even when it came to his little sister, but he definitely does get worried over his little friend a lot. He tries to not let it show, knowing Wander doesn’t really like being treated like a child, so Magna keeps his distance and stays the annoying type of older brother he always was growing up.

-Childhood friend of Bright Comet, daughter of Sunburst and Shining Armor.

-His clothes were a gift from Wander, he bought them for him on one of their trips to Canterlot. Wander himself says it's only because his dirty looks chases away potential customers and their money, but Magna knows the young colt also just wanted to give him a gift. He never really cared about getting dirty, but now he tries to be as careful as he can, the clothes mean a great deal to him.
