Whoo - a not-so-quick sketch of Diesel from Seeking. Initially this was supposed to be more about the song Demons, by Imagine Dragons, but then it faded more into Diesel's own personal sketch, so I let him have it and changed the title appropriately - credit, as ever, to MaiaCarlson for that beautiful phrase to sum him up ;]Haven't drawn dogs, certainly dynamically, for a long time. Had fun, and the shading wasn't too bad either c:
Diesel's breed is never specified exactly in Seeking, and I don't have an exact idea of his lineage, however when drawing him I use the breed features of Staffordshire bull terrier, greyhound, Rhodesian ridgeback and Rottweiler, with Staffy and greyhound most prominent. I've worked considerably with lurchers of this kind before, and fell much in love with them - particularly, I love to draw the deep chests and long legs of the hound, with the thicker neck and large head of the Staffy

Hah-hah, I couldn't resist! And definitely - it was almost supposed to be a sort of double-irony originally: the demons of his life making a demon out of him. I suppose the lyrics still fit, even if I didn't finish it from the song - "Don't get too close / It's dark inside / It's where my demons hide" - and then others particularly to Tas: "They say it's what you make / I say it's up to fate"... You really shouldn't let me loose on songs x.x
And yess, thank-you, they were so amazing to do - especially the paws as well!

That sounds like an epic start to a poem: 'the demons of life making a demon out of him' (it's even got bit of a rhythm to it, haha)

Ah-hah-hah, now you're just inspiring me all around for different things XD
And absolutely - just love it. I sang it for an audition a few weeks ago because of how much I could get from it. It's pretty darn amazing ^ .^
