Description
This is a Siberian or Amur tiger (Panthera tigris altaica) at Banham zoo, UK.These big cats are still listed as Endangered by IUCN but their numbers have increased and the population is now considered stable, though there are still only around 360 of these tigers in the wild. Of 9 subspecies (3 extinct) these are the largest.
