I had so much love for these two, by the end. Soooo much! Not even really as a couple, or anything. Just as bros, who kinda 'got' each other. It broke my heart

It was sparing, but it made a kind of sense, I think. Like, Sadie doesn't talk to any of them, early on, gets a foot in the door through Arthur, and then by the end when it all goes ham, they're well enough acquainted that Arthur and Sadie know at least they won't shoot one another in the back. And he left enough of an impression that she, John, and Charles all want revenge for him almost a decade later before they can move on with their lives.
