~~~A little context before we jump into it, it's been a few years since the last picture. Lumin and Flurry are only a year apart but perspective made her look huge XD. Alright that's all lol~~~
"Well Miracle how do I look?" Flurry asked turning her head, looking at her reflection with a slight smile.
"Stunning, your highness! Gold really suits you as well as your mothers-" Miracle was cut off by a laugh.
"Mother's necklace? Is that what you are wearing?" Shining Jr teased. Flurry's wings flared, and her face reddened in embarrassment.
"No! So-so what if it is! It looked nice, I just wanted to-"
"Flurry, Flurry I'm not making fun of you. I thought it was cute. Considering how you always say you wouldn't wear any of her stuff." Shining Jr smiled, Miracle bowed to him and left.
"...Whatever" Shining stood behind Flurry, looking at her reflection as well. He gently brushed her wings back down.
"You're so sensitive these days, Flurry. Does someponies bully you?" Shining asked, his voice lowered.
"They dare not to! You think I'd let them push me around Shining?!" Flurry glared through the mirror.
"Then what is it?" He replied calmly, she's been getting fired up easily these days. "Are you ashamed to wear mother's things?"
"No- no... I would never.. I just," Flurry sighed and looked down at her bracelet, "miss them more this year. I wear her things when I feel like this.. I didn't think anyone would notice"
Shining smiled and nodded, "I understand, haven't you noticed what I am wearing?"
Flurry turned around and looked him up and down. "Father's sash?"
Shining nodded, "If I could fit into the whole outfit I would've worn it. But alas, father was much.. broader than I" Shining laughed and Flurry chuckled as well.
"We should go, I'm sure Gardenia will be opening up the ceremony soon. Wouldn't want to keep them waiting" Shining said opening the door with his magic. Flurry getting up and following him.
"Doesn't this year feel different to you?" She asked, so quietly Shining almost missed it.
"It does, doesn't it? Perhaps our parents are here with us right now.. If that's the case I'm just mother is scolding your slouching" Shining teased once more.
Flurry straightened up immediately, "I'm not slouching! You are! Besides if they are here, why don't they tell us or something?"
"The afterworld they are in probably doesn't allow them to, otherwise I'm sure they would've a long time ago."
The two walked out into the front of the castle, meeting up with Gardenia who smiled at them both.
"Flurry, would you like to say it?" Gardenia asked as they faced the crowd in front of them. Flurry just rolled her eyes, earning a nudge from Shining.
"Ugh.. Alright everyone! Let the Remembrance Festival begin!" Flurry called out to the crowd, Gardenia set off a magic firework into the sky and the crowd cheered. They dispersed and the festival was in full swing.

In Seaquestria, it was much quieter. A different remembrance ceremony was going on. The offer of a pearl. The offering of a pearl was a special (And expensive) ceremony, the biggest pearls went to the fallen Queen Novo, others to the soldiers that were lost in the war.
The citizens already paid their respects to Queen Novo's pile, when Nina and Lumin came by with their pearl.
"Mother, how are you?" Lumin asked as they swam closer to the grave, "We got you this blue-lit pearl, we hope you like it." Lumin set the pearl at the top of the pile.
"Mother how is it over there? Are you safe? Are the soldiers with you still by your side? They better be," Nina added on.
"We apologize that father couldn't be here... He's on land, sick with a cold. He'll be fine soon of course, but his body is too strained to transform right now." Lumin softly smiled at the graves. An eel swam out, and nuzzled the pearl they sat down. It picked up some of the pearls that rolled away and put them back on the pile. It looked at Nina and Lumin and hissed, but not an angry hiss more like a welcome. Nina bowed to the eel, for it is the guardian of the pearl piles. A mighty beast even if it was small, it did it's job well. The eel slithered back into it's dark home.
"Lumin." Nina started, he looked up at her, "Have we ever visited the Crystal Empire?"
"Well... no but why would we? I doubt we'd be welcomed there." Lumin and Nina started to swim back to the palace.
"Still, shouldn't we see the kingdom we should've earned a long time ago? Besides, I'm curious how they are fairing today." Lumin would be lying if he said he wasn't curious, Nina's gone once with Sombra and but he's never gone past the hippogriff borders.
"I suppose we could ask, I'll have to wear something to cover my feathers though won't I?" Lumin asked, Nina nodded.
"I will as well, they wouldn't let an alicorn just waltz through the street without some attention. And we won't be asking. Father doesn't need the extra stress, we can go without him knowing."
"Are you sure?" She nodded, "Fine, I guess let's go"

Can I just say it was a load of fun to shade the seaquestria side XD
Small warning, these next few pictures will be some time skips lol sorry there's just not a lot going on back to back (Except the next picture will be at the festival itself)
I didn't get to show Gardenia's look but maybe I will next time just for fun lol or it just be separate all together just to show it off
