Flurry ran and ran, never stopping. Soon enough, the stallion in front of her became more clear, she could tell she was getting closer to him. He turned around but kept running, he was getting tired though and slowing down.
"Master! Master! Help me please!" He called out. Soon enough, another unicorn had stepped out into the clearing and the stallion Flurry pursuded stood beside them.
"Who are you? Why do you chase my student?" The other sounded hostile, his horn lighting up with magic.
"Wait, wait please. We can talk, I'm looking for someone." Flurry stopped and was breathing as hard, after catching her breath, she awkwardly shuffled. She bowed before them, "I am Princess Flurry Heart of the Crystal Empire. I'm looking for a stallion by the name of Tempo-"
"The crystal empire..." The unicorn took his hood off and looked at her. He bowed upon seeing her wings and horns clearly, pulling the other stallion down with him. "Forgive our attitudes.." It seems he was at a lost of words, "I am Mihi Amare Tempo, pri-... ex-prince of the Crystal Empire." He looked at her.
"Un-uncle Tempo." Flurry bowed back, "Uncle! I've been looking for you for months, please come home with me."
"Uncle? But Cadenza... Child, tell me. Where's my sister? Cadenza? Is she safe? You're hers aren't you?" Tempo stepped closer, while the other backed away, confused by the situation.
"My mom.. she's no longer alive... I'm sorry Uncle. Her and our father passed a while ago." Flurry's ears folded down seeing the pain that was written across his face.
"Of course... I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up.." Tempo sighed and looked at his compaion, ushering him to come closer. "Where are my manners, this is my student, Raven Aroha."
Raven stood up tall and bowed, taking his hood off as well. "Greetings... your highness."
"I'm sorry to have spooked you earlier, Raven. It's been difficult to find you both though." Flurry apologized.
"We've been isolated from others for so long, if he's offended you I apologize on his behalf." Tempo spoke again, about to make Raven apologize.
"No no, there's no need for that. It's all just some misunderstandings, I won't hold any grudges. Uncle, cousin, please come back with us. Come back to the Empire." Flurry reached a hoof out.
Tempo was hesistated, "The last time I was at the Empire... King Sombra had took over... is my home anything like it once was?"
"It is, King Sombra is no longer there, mom and dad took it back, they've restored it as well as they could to it's original prestige. Uncle come look for yourself, we're safe now. The war was finished."
Tempo smiled, tiredly. It looked like he hadn't smiled in a while. Now Flurry took a good look at him, his hair was cut short yet he had facial hair and his fretlocks were growing long. She couldn't see their bodies but both of them looked skinny. Raven had yellows tattoos that covered one of his front legs, his back, his hind leg, and part of his tail. Huh, he had a tail, a unicorn trait that's not common these days.
"Please follow me, I'll take you back to our camp and we'll set for home asap." Flurry smiled back, fufuilled from finally finding her uncle and even bringing home another family member.
Eventually they made it back and Daniel ran over to Flurry, "You were gone for so long! Are you alright? Empress Gardenia would be furious if you got hurt again."
"I'm fine Daniel! Look! I found Uncle Tempo! We can go home now!" Flurry moved so Daniel could have a clear view.
Daniel's jaw nearly dropped, he quickly went up to Tempo and bowed deeply. "Greetings, Prince Tempo! I am Prince Daniel, son of her majesty Celestia."
"Celestia's got a family now. Interesting. How the times seem to have changed, I've never met a earth pony prince. It's nice to meet you as well." Tempo bowed back.
Daniel forced a smile at the remark, "Well shall we pack up and head out?"
"Yes- oh wait." Flurry turned to Tempo, "Uncle, we heard that grandma Amore's remains were out here as well, would you happen to know where?"
Tempo nodded solemly, "Of course. I've been trying to look for her while I was out here. Come, she's not far from here."
They arrived to the side of a mountain, covered in snow. Raven walked up and uncovered that there was a cave enterance there. They walked in, the unicorns lighting up their horns for light. There near the back of the cave, stood Amore's statue. She looked to be mainly put together, though her arm was gone and some of her tail as well.
"I've found most of her but I can't find the remaining parts, all I've wanted is to put her together so she can be at peace even if we can't bring her back." Tempo and Raven had bowed to the statue, the others following suit out of respect.
"Uncle, we have found some strange stone that we'd been collecting for our scientists to analyze, I think it may be some of the parts you are missing." Flurry commented.
Tempo turned to her quickly, to confirm what she said. When she nodded, so much relief flowed through his body. So many feelings, everything and anything going through his head. He wasn't alone anymore, he still had family, their kingdom was still standing, he could finally go home. He looked to Raven with a smile, but Raven didn't match it. All these ponies made him anxious, he was isolated with only Tempo for so long, he didn't understand what was going on, it was too fast.
"Don't worry, my boy. Do you remember my stories?" Tempo spoke softly to him who nodded in response. "You'll finally see all I was telling you about, we'll have the meals I used to have when I was your age, the garden me and my sister grew up in, we'll sit by a real fire place and keep warm. We don't have to struggle or worry any longer. How does that sound?"
"It sounds... nice, I look forward to it, master." Raven replied but still looked at the others, cautiously. Tempo gave him a soft nuzzle and they let the guards come and delicately move Amore to a cart.
The rest of the day was spent packing up the camp and moving it the train that waited for them. Tempo stayed awake as Raven layed against him, catching a quick nap. Tempo starred outside the window the entire ride, he couldn't wait to go back.
