I was so excited to see Gohan wanting to start his training again after the latest episode of Dragon Ball Super that I had to draw something. I had this image of Gohan and Piccolo coming out of the hyperbolic time chamber with crazy levels of bad-assery! I had a little play with a possible scenario below

I wanted to draw it more like a comic book, so the rendering style is heavily influenced by David Finch. I have inked this on A3 paper, and might colour it digitally, or even by hand on a photocopy, I think ill leave the original as black and white.

My scenario:

Piccolo returns from the tournament after his loss with a new desire to reach a higher level. He spent his time in the tournament studying and analysing those with God Ki. He found it almost impossible to sense it, except every now and then he would feel something during Goku and Vegeta’s fights. He put together a theory that God ki is not a special kind of ki, just incredible control of a tremendously high amount of it. He assumed Goku and Vegeta to be new to it, so the times he felt something from them was due to their inability to maintain the ki entirely within their bodies. A few subtle questions to Whis appeared to confirm his theory, although Whis never gave much away.

Upon arriving back on Earth, Piccolo began a heightened period of meditation, trying to condense his own ki to be contained entirely within his body at full power. However after a few days he is warned by King Kai of an impending doom. A massive evil force from Universe 6 as somehow used the tournament to sneak into their universe. Goku and the others are off exploring universe 6 and are out of King Kai’s reach. Piccolo immediately grabs Gohan and they rush to start training in the hyperbolic time chamber.

Both emerge after an intense year of training and meditation with their own form of God ki, both having mastered the technique of condensing and containing their ki within their body, which has produce incredible increases in strength. Gohan having reached a new tier of strength, becoming the Ultimate Super Saiyan God (an extension of his former mystic powers).

Thoughts?? Ignore any obvious plot holes, just having fun.
