Description
I tried photographing a dragonfly from a really low angle. The result was mildly interesting because it is like viewing the dragonfly from the prey's perspective. Dragonflies may look cute to us with their big eyes and smiling mouth, but to their prey they must be flying monsters. This low angle makes the dragonfly look like a ferocious deity.
Not sure what species of dragonfly this is, but I enjoyed its color. Brown is my favorite color, and I had never seen an all brown dragonfly before. It was like a flying bar of dark chocolate, and then it landed on a brown remnant of a flower. I knew an all brown foreground on a black background wouldn't be the greatest for showcasing the dragonfly's details, so part of my motivation for this angle was to line the shot up for a splash of color behind its head.
