Description This is a robber fly (Laphria genus) which is disguised to resemble a bee. I have been wanting to retake this photo for a couple of years now, and I am pleased to have finally gotten the opportunity. Hopefully it is apparent that my photography skills have grown, as this is the same exact gear.

A great shot, indeed!  Feet are like 'hooves' of some big animal - a camel or some other animal?

Thank you!

It is funny to me that you said the feet are like hooves because this particular insect strikes me as rather bestial with its long hairs and predatory nature.

The feet look similar to fly feet to me: the pads would produce a sticky adhesive, and the claws would peel the pads away when it needs to un-stick from a surface. Hopefully I am right about this assessment, but I am not an expert or anything.
