My cat does the exact same thing! Whenever I open the fridge and he's around he'll walk right in as if looking for something for himself...he'll even stand up and lean against one of the compartments to get a better look!

Animals are curious so I don't think your ferret and my cat are the only ones doing this...at least I'd be surprized if they were.

I know my cat picked up this habit when I was away at college and he was with me. there were no other cats so I had left over cat food that had to be stored in there.

He knew his food was in there and I'd open the fridge and let him find his food before getting it out...lol.

Now of course he's back home with 4 other cats so we (me and my mom) don't keep any of his food in there because there's nothing left over anymore.
