Description Another piece to try to figure things out. My main concentration was to try to achieve softer blends. I also realized I need to go back and do some more cloth studies...I am forgetting things. I spent way too long on this and can now continue on...

Thanks to for her suggestions.

Have you found a new technique that allows such clean shapes? Or are you just making yourself get clean?

Just tried to keep everything clean for the most part in this one. I painted things up, and then blended bunches after. My stuff is pretty sloppy for the most part, and just trying something a little different.

If you're going to use blending this soft, you really need to use value and outline to define the form. Her arms are really lost under that cloth and the edge of her torso is rather undefined because of the suspenders. I think if it wasn't for those troubled spots it would look just fine.

Wow, great critique Vaxillus! Thanks. You are correct, a rim light/outline never really occurred to me, and could help separate the shapes. You helped me realize something to look out for if I use this style again. Thank you tons for your great feedback, I appreciate it greatly.

I kinda agree with Kuroi. Go any softer and you could probably just lasso and gradient fill. Your achieving some soft blending, but maybe introducing some more energy and speed in your brushwork will help you see the piece in a fresher way. I'm finding the faster i work, the stronger my stuff becomes. You can always through a layer up on top and do some sketching to check yourself :]

Ahh interesting idea with the new layer on top and just go quick over it. Yea, if anything, this took way to long...ahha I think you are right though, it does look like its lacking energy, and feels kinda static. I was attempting something different, and learned a little bit busting this out. Thanks for the feedback Kurt.

I don't think softer blends are doing you any favors here, the brush strokes in your other works add more to form imo. BUT HEY, WHAT DO I KNOW?

Thanks for the constuctive feedback Kuroi, I think you have a good point. I tried to experiment with something new, and came across some interesting results. I appreciate the feedback and I can definitely learn from this.
