Description So here's some old sketches in my fartbook..errr graphite boogey book (i forgot what i named it) anywho...heres some various drawllins which I thought I would upload before they smudge even more. I got to make sure to scan things right after they are finished otherwise it will get bad. Well enjoy some of the crap that floats around in my dome.

There's a spray you can get, like hairspray but from the art shop which sets pencil so it doesn't smudge.... my Mum is an artist and she used it all the time

How do you come up with such clean sketches? I try, but all I get are a bunch of really smudged pencil drawings with my graphite ALL over the place. How do you keep your lines so clean, and with so many characters on the page?

justinwongart In reply to tsau-mia [2008-01-24 22:29:25 +0000 UTC]

Heh there is ton of smudge, I just do a quick levels pass and clear out a bit of the smudge. Sketchbooks are bound to smudge, therefor I just accept it. If there is something I really know I won't want to smudge I will do it on a separate sheet of paper, but for the most part I carry my book everywhere so the majority of my stuff ends up in there. You can look around and find some good tutorials on cleaning up your linework.

yeah I agree with the guy, you always seem to draw detailed clothes without making them too detailed, if you know what I mean.

I love your doodles, keep 'em coming.

Haha this response got me laughing. To answer your question, I suppose I just remember clothes and designs I like and try to incorporate them in my drawings.

There seems to be, simultaneously, a fired missile and a punching fist erupting from cigarette-smoking, beret-wearing man's crotch...

It gives a whole new meaning to having heavy artillery in one's camp... Was it coincidental?

haha, yea...I didn't really notice it until I scanned it..but I found it funny so I left it.

It's okay, that's great. The world needs more crotch pocket rocket! And more things emanating from the groin in future sketches. Hardy har.
