Meet Vai, a ryn combat medic and rebel. She is my Star Wars RPG Saga character.

Born into slavery somewhere in the middle of Hutt space (horrible setting, check), Vai developed a strong and defying personality through the ancient stories of her people as warriors. Even the death of her father (dead parent, check), didn't break this flame. With the help of her best-friend-like-a-brother Tal'kru, a twi'lek, and Udo, an cerean slave medic; they initiated a slave revolution. Vai and Tal'kru left Udo (who had suffered the loss of his arm) and their mothers at the next space station. They roamed the galaxy vowing to help those in need. One day, the two found themselves turned on by the mercenary group they were traveling in and Tal'kru was fatally injured. Abandoned on a sith ghost planet, Vai wandered in a daze after losing her true love (realized too late, check). This daze was interrupted by a strange robot, a sniper, and a nobleman with an ewok. After they helped her out and questioned her with no results, she managed to trade her arms for a ride to the next station. After 'helping' defeat a sith in a haunted temple (she was unconscious or half of it), they flew her to their next destination, the rebel command ship.

Vai offered her arms again to the rebels after she was taken by their mission. She was assigned to help out with a small group's mission. Upon arriving at the hanger to meet this group, she was greeted with the sight of the three she arrived there with. Avoiding the romantic advances of the noble, Vai 'helped' the group with a number of missions. When she screwed up an assassination mission they had, she realized she lacked any real skills to fight (being self-taught) and her quick and rash style conflicted with the group's stealth. When they nest arrived at the command ship, she inquired to train with them. The officer chuckled, threw some uniforms at her and told her that she can join the army.

Vai found herself training alongside other troopers-to-be. She learned slower than the rest due to her impatience and defiance. When the officers realized her skills in medicine, they enlisted her in the combat medic program. Vai managed to graduate with the help of new-friend and fellow trooper Constance, human female. The two were assigned to the 703rd squad under Sergeant Kolwill Haselev (human male) and Corporal Hux Zantot (nautolan male), along with 7 other troopers.

Squad 703rd was assigned to cut off supplies to a small republic base along with the other squads of the 84th Platoon. The squad was devastated when they received tampered information on the size of their opponents forces for one excursion. Vai, Constance, and another trooper were captured and detained as prisoners. At the base were two other prisoners from the 84th Platoon. Vai was forced to treat the enemy, warned that any defiance would result in the death of a comrade. When she did eventually attempt to scalpel the guard, they returned with the body of one of the other squad's prisoners. The remaining four and 3 others that arrived later, were rescued when the rebels came in with backup, completely overtaking the base.

Vai received honorary discharge do to a heavy blaster injury to her leg. Constance was promoted to Corporal. As for the Corporal Hux or Sergeant Kolwill, Vai doesn't know if they are still alive. After healing up , Vai sought out/reassigned to the group she was with before. She has remained with them since and has developed into a skilled combat medic. Although, she does now suffer from ptsd...
