Description You know, it just hit me. An episode written where the main duo were presented as selfish, idiotic, sabotaging losers while the sisters were presented as (admittedly flawed but) far more heroic and cool?
I wouldn't be at all surprised if this episode was deliberately created by the writers to get back at all those fans who complained so strongly about Brawl and No Such Luck after they first came out. You know that whole issue that's been on and off for a couple of years now where some fans have been going on no end about how the sisters are scum and Lincoln is a saint, much to the dismay of some other fans, and no doubt, the people behind the making of the show.
I wonder if this episode was a big f*** you to the former group of fans who have behaved with that mentality for the past 2 years.
Not sure, to be honest. Just throwing that suggestion out there.
What I will say is this. If that hunch is actually true, then while I understand the frustration of the writers in this case... I don't believe this was a very classy or productive way of getting payback against the complainers. It just makes the main duo look terrible needlessly.
Again, as I've said, I think Clincoln McCloud could do with giving up some of its screen-time to some of the less exposed characters, but that doesn't mean I want them to be butchered like this. Lincoln and Clyde are far more virtuous characters than this. I get the episode was aiming for a slight black comedy feel, where the misfortune of the main characters was a major aspect of the plot and humour, and I realise the ending was actually preferable to them succeeding in their goals in this episode when they clearly didn't deserve it here, but how about just taking a different approach with the plot entirely? This could have been a much more worthy follow-up to Pulp Friction.
Still, it all could've been worse, and I expected worse, so... lucky, I guess?

Nevertheless, I still think this episode could have been much more for a span of 20 minutes

The Con and the Full House gang was the only positive aspect of the episode. Other then that, it's what you expect from Lincoln and Clyde typical slapstick comedy that is so forced and in your face as much as possible. And it was not funny seeing those two trying to hug the glory for Themselves.  Is it the worse to me, No not really, but it is pretty dull with Lincoln and Clyde on screen, and I was nothing but yawning throughout the episode. Honestly, I don't think the episode needed to be 20 minutes long.

You know, I seriously doubt that the show writers go out of their way to deliberately make bad episodes just to get back at a few dissatisfied fans, or to make the sister show look better by comparison.

On another note, I really hate it when Lincoln and Clyde are written as clumsy idiots who can't do anything right, which I'm always afraid is going to be a problem whenever they do an Ace Savvy episode. Most of those episodes, like Pulp Friction and Recipe For Disaster, do manage avoid that to a reasonable degree, but not this one. I don't even mind that they got so desperate as to do something that was clearly a terrible idea to try and upstage the girls, as much as I mind them basically getting bullied by the writers.

Still, with all that said, I agree that it wasn't nearly as bad other episodes. Certainly not the two most hated ones of all.

I will say this.  This is one case where spoilers did improve the episode for me, because had I not read up about the episode before hand, I probably wouldn't be able to sleep.

From what I've seen, the biggest problem is that after three full seasons and now in the fourth, Lincoln remains the least developed Loud. All the sisters have been getting good development including Lynn Jr so Lincoln just feels stagnant. A5 this point, Lincoln needs his own talent like being an artist, dancer or gymnastics in that one fanfic I'm currently following.

In 5th season? The writers should have developed Lincoln from the start. In S1 he learned some lessons, but in next seasons he forgot them. Lincoln is more like creator's pest, because the writers don't write him good.

Lincoln being overshadowed by his sisters even in his comfort zone is peek of patheticness. His jealousy caused him to kindap a cat to use him in fake heroic action. Lynn and Luan also were jealous, but never tried to sabotage because of this. In this episode he's flanderized to the worst like it was S1 episode. I can't enjoy show with such unsympathetic jerk as protagonist.

I start to think Clyde is a bad friend, because he only acts as Lincoln's yesman and never tries to stop him from evil schemes and doesn't offer any alternative. Such friend is like parent spoiling own child.

This episode is one big wasted potential.

It also didn't help that those judges were kind of jerks.

And the last few seconds could've ended better too.

I thought of something, maybe they'll do a sequal story to this and it might be better.

I don't know the heck happen here, but this is easily the weakest special in the whole series for me and that's a first.. I don't hate it like the rest of the fanbase do, but it's still a disappointment to me on how it was handle and I thought it was gonna be a great follow up to Pulp Friction, because of the concept. The girls costumes and the fight with the cat was the only highlight for me. But everything else I have no comment on.. Especially the ending. After the things that Lincoln and Clyde did, they deserved to be punish for their actions. Even thought I'm glad they admit their mistake and gave the credit to the sisters, that's all I can credit those two for. I also hate the fact the Girls never got any screen-time again. I was kinda hoping that they would fix that, since they didn't get any in Tricked, but here no. They were completely wasted once again, until the near ending. So we don't know what we're they doing off-screen. As much as I hate Clyde, I have no idea why Lincoln was written this way. But if they keep this up, he might become my least favorite character/protagonist soon. So anyway, not a terrible episode, just a meh/mediocre one.
