Seelie and Qil were dropped off at the den much later than most other kits: already hatched and years out of the pouch. Their parents attempted to raise them but eventually found exhausting the work/life balance. While they keep in touch, they don’t interact with either kit more than average Folk parents.
It’s been hard to adjust to the den. Seelie is autistic and struggles in this new loud environment where everyone wails about nightmares and eldritch beings. Fae will get settled in with time, but it’s still a work in progress.
But really, why is everyone weeping about eldritch beings? Everyone knows that you just need to follow the rules to keep yourself safe. Seelie knows all about them from the first-ever example: Old World predators called the Fey Folk (the thing their parents had to drop them to research). All you need to do is not intrude, bother, or question things above your position.
Seelie would jump for joy if anyone asked them how to keep themselves from fairy rings and name-stealers. Yet, not many kits like talking to the one who’s always taking people’s bread or clothes to leave on windowsills. Odd.
