Amalthea can offer some interesting views, but we would need some heavy-duty radiation shielding, as it is well within Jupiter's radiation belts!

Jupiter would be 90 full Moons (of Earth) across in the Amalthean sky, being just some 68,000 miles away.Β I wish the Galileo probe would have taken close-up pics of it in 1995, when it passed just 99 miles from it.Β

The radiation from Jupiter's Van Allen belts is so intense near Amalthea thatΒ it's unlikely humans will ever muster the desire to stand here. Stunning art!
