[HISTORY]
Millennia ago Dinraal, like their brethren, eventually succumbed to the blight after thousands of years of service to Hyrule and the Goddesses. Thankfully Hyrule didn't have to wait long for another dragon to be born. Deep within Death Mountain a new dragon formed in the volcano's lava pit, slowly forming into a small dragon youngling. Confusion was obviously their first feeling, but eventually became used to this new body. Darune had finally been reborn, though most of his memories as Dinraal had all but faded away. Most of their time was spent seeing all their was for them to see with their new eyes, and familiarizing themselves with the mortals who lived there. For a time, Darune would continue to do this and seemed content with their life. Many years had passed and, though not fully an adult, life came and went. Blight took what it could and was ever present, and mortals were always just that--mortal.

Oracles are fragile no matter their power. They're just as human as their peers, just as easy to fall prey to power. The Oracles of Power seemed especially cursed, always assumed to be wicked because of the past. A lot of Oracles died--a love lost, a friend lost to corruption, and others were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. So much potential, gone. After years and years, and after oracle upon oracle expired Darune could no longer handle his failures and chose to enter into a deep slumber, cradled within the innards of Death Mountain. There he slept, willfully oblivious to the happenings around them exhausted by his destiny. But, eventually, all things resume their course, and so too another for him to watch over.

[TRIVIA]
He has a kind of frenemy relationship going on with the Dragon of Wisdom, Sanskar. They butt heads a lot.
Darune tends to look down on mortals, preferring to keep them at arms length due to what happened in the past.
He does however get along well with the Gorons in Rudania, even going so far as to seek their company.
Aemu is his 5th Oracle since being reborn as Darune, and he is very protective of her though he would deny otherwise.
A lot of his memories as Dinraal are foggy at best, but will occasionally have dreams of his old life.
Darune loves the hot springs that are scattered around Rudania, frequenting them quite often to rest his weary body.
