Actually no, I don't own any ACTUAL watercolors. I used watercolor pencils for the background and some of maka's clothes. The rest is just colored pencils

That's impressive
I'd never have the patience for that
I sketch, erase , lineart with sharpie fine tips, scan, andtrace vector lines over the original lineart
My experiments with other art styles never gave the same quality i had with my tried and true method

Thanks! I actually do have a drawing tablet that I got as a gift, but...I don't know, whenever I open the program or whatever everything just looks so confusing, so I always find myself going back to just traditional media. Pencil and paper is just a lot more straight forward. Then again, I'm really bad with technology. I just learned how to use my scanner today XD

Well i don't mean to bost but i do have a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and I'm heading for my Master'sΒ
I kinda have to know this stuff to get any clientele for jobs
I do admire people who can go full on traditional with charcoal and pastels though
I can't stand doing it myself

Wow, that's awesome! I've just started high school, and have only really been drawing for a few months, so I have to look at tons of reference photos and stuff. I think once I get the hang of it I might attempt to use my tablet. The thing with using traditional media is in the long run it's a lot more expensive, and the clean up sucks. I actually don't personally know anyone who uses it anymore, everyone has moved on to digital art. I'm just too old fashioned.

Aww, that colored one is so cute! And the way I see it is with digital you have to spend a lot of money at first and then once in a while to keep things updated, and with traditional you're constantly having to replace things and get more colors. Digital is a lot better in that way since you have an endless supply of every color.

Both are really expensive
Why do you think i use sharpies of all things?
Digital design's biggest expense is printing though
While a program can be upwards to $2000, its updates are usually free and it's more than worth it if you're career is based around it
However printing whether it be a ink jet or a laser printer kills your wallet and fast
Plus if you really want to be a professional you have to buy calibration equipment for your monitor so the colors you use are consistent with what you send the client
And you have to buy a Pantone guide for colors which is usually $1200
So digital design is pretty involved
