This was kinda better in my head but the general idea is that Sobble's head fin reminds me of quill pens and feathered hats, so I think the starters may have a sports/arts/music theme. Also Sobble's japanese name is Messon which may have to do with the MesosaurRelated content

Well the idea is quite original. I have seen Sobble related to the ballet thing theme too but I prefer this one since Ghost type seems the most suitable for it at the moment.

I like it!! I love the concept of poet going through an existential crisis. At leas that's what I assume the middle evo is going for. He looks very troubled and I love it. I agree Sobble looks more like a newt of sort. But prehistoric aquatic reptiles are cool, and we've gotten weirder evolutions so this is acceptable. The final evo is cool too but I feel like it's missing something to get the idea that it's a ghost down- I think you should go balls deep with the victorian-era clothing deal. Make his pattern look more lik a frilly vest, add some wear and holes like he probably died at sea. Give him a water rapier too because why not. This is solid.

I also have a Water and Ghost idea in mind, but my hypothetical idea revolves more around a pretty-looking salamander whose tears revive the dead than a Mesosaur with calligraphy pens for fins.

Good observation with the head quill!
Sobble gives me more of an amphibian vibe to me, though. The big head and small, perhaps underdeveloped body make me think of a polliwog that isnβt quite a frog (or salamander) but isnβt quite a tadpole anymore either.
