Viewed from its moon Pheros, the rings define the catastrophe that struck Nuocta 1R. The binary star system, which consisted of 18 planets was annihilated when Ethiian L, an M-type Red Hypergiant initiated an event known as a pair instability supernova, a type of Hypernova. Needless to say, only 5 planets which were located on the outer ring of the system survived, but not before being stripped of their "life". With one of its moons destroyed and its surface scorched and destroyed, Nuocta 1R, which was the home of the Athenaxians, was left uninhabitable. The Athenaxians left the planet before the event occurred and returned after 5,829,288,942 years. The planet had acquired rings, which was debris from the destroyed moon. The remaining star of the binary star system, Xoraksi, was found to have undergone new fusion. Before the detonation of Ethiian L, Xoraksi was but a pale brown dwarf. The explosion, which should have destroyed the dwarf, instead gave it a new lease on life, transforming it into a Class K star. To this day it is unknown to the Athenaxians how this occurred.......how death gave birth to life.
