While seeking Superhumans to form the US government-backed League of American Superhumans, recruiters were met with a young man named Tom Kesel, who seemed to possess similar abilities to Zenith Woman in that he used telekinetic fields to grant him superstrength and flight. He would be branded by the government as Zenith Man, clad in red, white, and blue tights, and considered America's Mightiest Hero. Little did anyone realize, Tom was actually only 14 years old, and his powers had once been simple telekinesis, nothing like Zenith Woman's. He had been captured and experimented on by Solution, only to escape after they used information obtained though Oondtryxian blood samples they'd acquired in secret to enhance his powers and artificially age him, which also resulted in him becoming mentally unbalanced. Knowing that Solution had ties to the government, Tom swore revenge upon them, arranging to have the President murdered. He also harbored hatred for the Oondtryxians, as their arrival on Earth caused Solution to try and create a human with their powers, meaning they bore responsibility for his life being ruined. As such, he was only too happy to frame Zenith Woman for the death of the President. While he had no ill will toward the other heroes, though, he would fight them if necessary, leading to him almost killing Outrun by accident when his powers flared up in the middle of battle. After he continued to hunt down and kill several government officials with connections to Solution, all the while the War of the Leagues waged on, the truth of his crimes were revealed. Many heroes came after him to apprehend him under Zenith Woman's lead, his rage at their betrayal lead to him accidentally kill and maim almost all of them as he fought to defend himself. In the end, he forced Zenith Woman to kill him, all the while raving that, as long as aliens like her continued to come to Earth, others like him would be created. Vyxwyndul could only mourn him and what had been done to him, lamenting that, under other circumstances, they might have been friends.

Welcome back to #allnew52starverse , where I cruelly mock dark reboots and relaunches in modern comic books by applying their worst elements to my own characters in a parody of a dark reboot. And here, we have a prime example of something DC does frequently: Take characters who were heroes in previous continuities and turn them into villains. In this case, we have Zenith Lad being made into Zenith Man, working for a government-run superhero team meant to replace the pre-existing heroes in the eyes of the public, only to reveal himself as a villain and going on a killing spree out of revenge for what had been done to him. However, while that was a thing that happened a lot in the New 52, the main one that I'm parodying in this case happened long beforehand: Superboy-Prime becoming evil in Infinite Crisis, and the horrifying and brutal fight where he accidentally kills several heroes. Ironically, as I'm working on this, he recently was finally given a chance to redeem himself for his past misdeeds, and took it, so hopefully that's the end of that. He's also a parody of evil Supermen in general, which...man, words cannot express just how freaking over that trope I am nowadays.
