Grandniece to the second woman to bear the name Nightfall, Rose Murray, Jacqueline "Jacqui" Murray grew up believing that Rose made an error in judgment in becoming a superheroine and instead should've led a life of crime as a supervillainess. As such, she gathered together a group of teenage delinquents to become a gang that committed terrible crimes. She also constructed a suit for herself that utilized superconductor electromagnetism as a weapon. With all of these things in her grasp, she became the young villainess Deadvolt. While she was eventually brought down by her own sister, Aisha, she nonetheless plans to regain her power and enact vengeance on her and Team Nightfall.

Much like her grandaunt and her sister, Deadvolt is an engineering genius, though her specialty is in electrical engineering. Her suit is mostly bulletproof, and generates enough electricity to grant her the ability to shock and stun foes, and even levitate herself several feet off the ground. It's also flexible enough to allow her to fight freely, and while she lacks a lot of physical strength, she's an adept and improvisational fighter, as well as a very dirty one. She oftentimes exploits her opponents physical or mental weaknesses to gain advantages in battles where her suit's electric blasts aren't as effective.

For all of her skills and abilities, however, Jacqui has more than a few weaknesses. Aside from the standard weaknesses of a human being, as stated above, she isn't quite as physically fit as most of her opponents, meaning she has to rely on dirty tricks to save her frequently. While her suit carries quite a large charge to it, it's not limitless, and needs to be recharged at least once a day. Lastly, for all that she does to exploit a person's soft spots, she has a rather large one: Her inability to rationalize how much she idolizes her grandaunt's genius with the fact that she became a superhero instead of a supervillain.
