Yay! New thing. This is a commission for a girl from Anime North. I still have to send it off, but I was excited at how smooooth it came out. And I needed new dA stuff. Badly.So, Yagami Raito. I was so confused with the whole Raito/Light thing for a while. I think I understand now. I don't understand the L/Near thing though. I DON'T FOLLOW DEATH NOTE, OK!?
EDIT: OK, for some reason, even though I WANT to put it in the manga fanart category, it doesn't want to let me. It keeps putting it in books/novels. Sorry!

Well, Raito is how Japanese people pronounce the word Light (mostly). His name is written by a Japanese symbol that normally reads Tsuki (light in Japanese), but is pronounced as an English word - as much as Japaneses can manage.
L is pronounced like Eru. And Near is another guy, white-haired and younger in age. He is L's "descendant". Uses the letter N, by analogy, though Near isn't his given name (thus there's no much need to hide it).

Raito/Light: Light is pretinding his name is Raito to protect his idenity.
L/Near: Same thing here I think, athough I haven't read as far as to know for sure.
