Description "- Once, when I was younger even than you, playing with a mirror on the edge of a pit of someones house, on a farm in the wild.
The well was dry and the beautiful reflection of the mirror running like a flashlight by the dark wall, you know it , right?
But suddenly the mirror fell and shattered in the back. I was desperate, I wanted to throw in there to get the pieces of my mirror.
Then someone , took me by the hand and comforted me
saying there was no point any more because even though I joined, one by one, all the pieces, the mirror will never be like it was before .
You know, I see myself like that shattered mirror: we can go deep down and glue the pieces,
but then it all comes to reflect , the sky, the trees, people, everything, everything will be like myself,
broken into a thousand pieces. You see, sad is not what might happen ... . Sad is what is happening right now.
My sick mind, my sick heart ... And there is no remedy. Only whispered voices that there is still perfect as the mirror, before falling to the ground.
oh . and i hear the voices just fine .

someone is knockin' on my door .
wtf ! ! ! "

"The word “barzakh” in Arabic originally means a barrier between two things.
As a temporal concept, the barzakh is mentioned in the Quran as the time between death and resurrection. The departed souls, as they are transferred across the boundaries of the mortal realm, will rest in a period of transitory inactivity until the Judgment Day.

Although it is seen as a separator, it is more interesting to think about the barzakh as a “between” that links two places, two situations, two states…

I think that we all live in a kind of barzakh, moving from a state of mind to another, from a situation to a different one, crisscrossing boundaries of different natures:  cultural, linguistic, ideological, psychic… consciously or unconsciously, and thus throughout  our lives."

barzakh was told to me by

This is a beautiful picture. But barzakh won't be pretty as this is where a person will suffer grave torture for his sins. Basically in Islamic belief, it's a place where people stay before the Day of Judgement... Before being sorted as either good and bad, sent to either Heaven or Hell. And that place is called barzakh. You have shot a beautiful picture but barzakh won't be nearly as pretty as this. In fact, it won't be pretty at all.
I love your photo, btw

If that is what barzakh means , being in the " in between " places
Before G.O.D. ( whatever one believe in ) decides where you should go ,
Like you are in some sort of a weight of you acts place ,then by no means
I can't see why it shouldn't be pretty a all.
I mean , if one is yet to decide where you deserves to go then,
Why good people should be in a place "not pretty at all" before they get to
Heaven . Isn't earth already enough .

Anyways , thank you for your input , it got me thinking over a few things .

Oh, that. About the pious and the holy, they have a different kind of barzakh. Meaning they don't have the grave punishments and tortures if they have cast no sins. I'm Muslim and I'm told by my elders and the Holy Quran that when good people, who live their lives according to God's plan, are lying in their graves, they suffer no torture and no punishments. Instead a window appears in their grave which gives them the insight to Heaven. They can feel the cool and refreshing air of Heaven and they know they are the ones who will get to Heaven. However, for the wrong-doers, all sorts of punishments and torture await them in the grave. Snakes, and fire and leeches just waiting to eat them alive. And this happens the very moment a person is buried, and it goes on and on, every single day and night, every second and every hour until the Day of Judgement. My bad, I overlooked that part in my previous comment. Barzakh is "not pretty at all" for the wrong-doers. Sorry for missing that out. And you're welcome. I am glad you think that way.

Thank you. I am glad to hear that. I am Muslim and I really don't like to disrespect other's beliefs and religions. Everyone has a right to their own opinions. You're welcome.

instead of setting more and more barriers and boarders, all of us should search for points that will bind us,
just as this bridge binds the land separated by a river...
lovely setting, so warm colours and unique atmosphere of this place...

The colours you've captured here are no less than brilliant. I wish we had such vivid colours where I lived, but...sadly we just don't, so I've fallen in deeper love with this shot than I might have normally. Wonderful work, and a well-earned DD!

Lovely place and shots. It's amazing the contrast between the colours of purple and orange of the trees comparing the ones on the background, and how they're reflected on the water below. Also, interesting to know what barzakh is, and I think this place could be it. Congrats on the DD, really deserved!
