Slowly stepping away
Farther and farther
Fading until not even
The slightest glow remains
Has the darkness conquered all?
Is there no light left to guide?
Yet, without light, there is no dark
Without the fading of the old
Nothing new can be born
And so as these souls fade
Newer souls are born
Bringing pure joy to the world
As long we live, old souls live
They are never forgotten
Forever cherished by those
That live loving them
Remembering and grateful
For knowing those 'gone souls.'
