Description ... though it has begun, the hunger never dies. Before one victim has fallen, another has been chosen.

I used egg whites and flour. That might do better than corn syrup.

To me, this picture feels like you just tore the viewer's heart out and are now eyeing the next person. Its AMAZING. I agree about the blood color, but its not too far off. really really amazing!

You should be holding a heart in your hand, or at least that's what it makes me think of. I love the texturing that you used. It looks really good. And the blood looks so real! It's fantastic!

Thanks! A heart would mean that it would potentially be REAL blood and that might gross me out a bit. Corn syrup makes me feel a bit better about the shot (A heart would look bitchin though!!!)

I really like compositionally....

but I think if you ate something that got your hand THAT bloody... you would have more smeared and smudged around your mouth... like you pushed it to your mouth as your torn off bites and it wouldnt be a neat outline at the lips and neat drips...

Well, I have two answers for this...
The excuse: The character may not have actually been eating anything but more mutilating something for the fun of it.
The reality: I didnt want to get red food coloring on the carpet and it was easiest to control that by having one hand really bloody and a towel on the floor below it I wish I was in a place where I could have used more blood honestly. I agree with you that there could have been more blood on the face but I am positive I would have gotten it EVERYWHERE!

Cool shot! Looks like you just ripped someone's heart out and ate it. Your bloody hand looks like there are bits of gore stuck to it. The blood looks a little too bright red though.

I love how your right eye is totally in shadow so that you only see your left eye. It totally looks like you're eyeing me for your next meal.

I'm wondering what kind of monster you are since you feel too alive to be a zombie and eating hearts isn't what I associate with vampires.

I notice that you don't have claws or long nails, which makes this picture scarier because it means that you would have to have a lot of strength in your fingers and hand to plunge your hand beneath the rib cage to tear the heart out without the benefit of sharp nails/claws.

I wouldnt say that Im a monster, just damn crazy! Its funny you mention the blood because I have been getting mixed comments on it. Some find it real and others see it as you do... I am going to have to figure out this blood thing either way.

Yeah, I think the color of the blood is definitely personal preference. I think in real life if there's a little bit, like a bloody nose or a paper cut, it looks bright red, but if there's more the blood seems to look darker. I just realized that I describe my favorite color as "blood red." Does that mean anything? LOL

Haha... it makes you an expert and my newest makeup artist if you were around the VA parts (which I cant say I would wish upon many...)

You are right though, the more blood there is, the darker it is which is a difficult thing to emulate. There is only one real way to make it right and thats to get real blood and I REALLY dont want to do that so I might have to figure out how to get some variable color tones.

No, I definitely don't think you should use real blood for many, many reasons. I know you'll find the right mix though. Good luck experimenting!

Haha... if I have a Cali shoot (which is highly likely) at the very least, you would be there for incite and moral support...
...and BLOOD!!!

I am not too keen on the blood thing but I am a bit squeamish (surprise...) so real blood might not do well.
