ABC is showing the Lego movie at the same time tonight (8).
I think it's to show their thumbs-down opinion. The Emoji is on FX,a station that runs too many commercials.

The Lego Movies Wins and Emoji moves loses in my eyes. The Emoji Movie is horrible the Lego is Amazing. Here are my problems with the Emoji. One of them is the story we can all agree the Emoji Movie is more of a Copycat movie then a fun adventure movie. The for start the movie has be yourself message however,Its done so badly because it doesn't anything cleaver. With Wreck It Ralph at least the message works because it focus on a good person thats label as a villain and plus they do twist and turns to make it good! Another problem with the Emoji is its characters. Okay Gene's Parents are alright but they can't save the other characters. Gene is boring and just blande,He's just the nice guy and thats it. The only thing I like about Gene is that At least TJ Miller does do a good job voicing him. Plus Miller is a good voice actor and plus he was the only person that tired to make Gene Likable. However, Canpair Gene to Miller's other characters like Tuffnut and Fred, Gene is nowhere like them. Well Tuffnut and Fred aren't perfect there likable because how there written and they don't need Miller's good acting to caring them unlike Gene needs. Then we Have High 5 who is more like the movie version of Post Movie Era Patrick were he's Gene Dumbass best friend thats a major selfish jerk. Jailbreak is Gene boring girlfriend and the bad tomboy character. Smiler is the way to happy villain thats not good. Also Theres Alex whos' the Badly done version of Riley From Inside Out and that the only good thing is that Jake T Austin does do a good job voicing him.

I still don't understand why The Emoji Movie has garnered more hate than The Room. That it's unoriginal? So what? MANY things are unoriginal.

The Room has a large following that likes it ironically. The Emoji movie is a boring amalgam of ideas of from other films to the point where it makes everything feel cliche.

I hardly see Rifftrax as a be all and end all source of what is the worst movie.

Would you care to tell me how The Emoji Movie is worse than something like Space Mutiny or Samurai Cop?

I would if I ever heard of those movies before. And if you are talking B-movies that isn't exactly are fair comparison.

Well it's hard for me to compare when I never heard of them.
To be honest I do agree that there worse films than the Emoji movie, like Battlefield Earth and Southland Tales, but those are a different sort of bad.

That does not answer the question. I haven't seen The Emoji Movie, but I find its premise to be harmless. It's The Room that we should focus all our wrath on.

In terms of plot and usage, its eerily similar to the other film; leaving the flick as more of a copycat than a inspired project.

Perhaps I misinterpret it. What I mean is; while the plot is harmless, the execution of the movie is highly akin towards other films that were already famous at the time. The direction of where its going is there, but it can be indirectly similar to what we've seen before. The ordeal underdog story is getting repetitive at this point; and without bringing a sense of variety to detach itself from its predecessors, the portrayal is ironically mixed. The sub-plot involving Alex made the film convoluted and we don't get enough time to fully identify it once the flick is over. I'm not highly against the film too much and there's wrong for inspiration, but those are my two cents.

Everything is awesome, but not the bad things in life, not The Emoji Movie, not Garbage Pail Kids, and definitely not any movie made by Michael Bay and Adam Sandler.
