Description Physalis Alkekengi (Chinese Lantern) in different stage to my last photo

I love the name in French...Amour en cage....love in a cage!

Apparently these are edible!

This photo was taken a few years ago and posted on my other site, I've sharpened it a bit and taken the frame off for this submission.

Yes, of course!! Gosh, I've eaten them many times but I only ever knew them as "amour en cage" as you said. I never realized they were the same thing as these "Chinese Lanterns"! Far out!
And absolutely fantastic photos, by the way, especially that first one!

Hi Karen, yes, long time indeed! I'm fine, thanks for asking, although very busy. Summer in France went by in a blur - the usual fun, games and never-ending string of house guests, and since coming back to Manila it hasn't been much quieter. And now Christmas is around the corner and the boys will be arriving in 2 weeks!
How are things your end? Are you snowed-in yet?
Pat

All is well at this end pat. We moved house this summer so, like you say, it went by in a blur! We've managed to avoid guests as the hosue needs doing up and, for the moment, there are no spare tooms! Can't say I'm sad about that!
We're looking forward to a quiet Christmas - can't believe it's that time of year already!
we've had a bit of snow but seem to have missed the worst of it. Godd thing for the transport and school side of things but rubbish for photography! I keep seeing gorgeous shots of snow covered fields and trees and ours are still green!
I'll probably be the only happy person if and when the snow eventually arrives!
Have a great Christmas!
