This is quite simply magnificent. The detail in the changes of expression -- things like the move from vertical eyes to round ones, the welling of the tears that becomes a sob -- is astonishing. I'm also amazed that you were able to time the crying with the heart in the thought bubble (another brilliant and unique design, btw).
My one critique would be that the opening and closing walk (which are great and would make a wonderful dejected emote all by themselves) takes a bit too long, both in time and in screen real estate. The slow build-up and cool-down detract a bit from the impact of the core panels. It also leaves the emote off-screen a little too long for my tastes. I think this piece might benefit from trimming the ends off. Then you can put the ends together in a new :dejected: emote.
Just a thought. Meanwhile, you've made something really wonderful here. It's beautiful work, and I can't wait to see what else you think up.
