Description Finally!

I wanted to create a scenic view again, once more delving into an Asian/exotic fantasy setting à la Jade EMpire, and had a lot of fun setting it up in Carrara!

This scene was completely set up and lit in Carrara 8 Pro, and of course I had to add so many details and lights that my PC almost crashed while rendering... I guess no matter how much RAM you have, you still get your PC to break into a sweat.

I then took the render and added/improved most of the little details in Photoshop, and all in all, it was a true fun and relaxing experience.

Now I can go back to my Zbrush tutorials, trying to learn more about Zspheres... wish me luck!

So wonderfully rendered Kaana! The Teahouse looks very inviting-who wouldn't want to stop and share a cup of tea? The landscape looks quite lush. The lighting and shadows give this image a soft warmth. And dang, now you've got me wanting to play Jade Empire again!

This is wonderfully awesome. So many sources of light; the setting sun, the lanterns, the fireflies, a light inside the tea house and how beautifully you have them light some objects and leave others in shadow or semi-darkness. The background is lovely and serene and the girl is lovely and stirs the blood. Your art is reaching new heights of complexity and subtle beauty.

It's a lovely picture. I want to live in that house, I do drink a lot of tea after all...I like the peaceful atmosphere and the light is simply beautiful. If I have anything to complain about it's that I'd like the shadows along the girls back to be darker. It's after all turned away from the main light source.

As a personal preference, which means it's not really criticism, I would have preferred to have the girl kneeling inside the house having her tea. Right now it feels like she's somehow disrupting the peace of the picture. Go figure.

Sweet, the detail is amazing and I love the fireflies.
Makes me think of a place you would stumble across in the middle of nowhere in Morrowing or Oblivion.
