Do you have any WIP pix or plans? I'd like to make a suit like this.
Well...admittedly, I'd like to make a Slaanesh Noize Marine suit, but I need a base anyway...

Very awesome..is the front of your helmet intentionally mouth-less though?? It just looks weird to me. But anyways, thats one kick ass project!

it's a standard helmet design, nothing wrong with it.

thanx we used some wood (skeleton base), a crap load of PU-foam (to fill up te skeleton), textile and a textile hardener. the textile with the hardener is to cover up the PU-foam to make the constuction stronger, to protect the PU-foam and to deflect bullets.

I will, but i think about more "real" one, covered with metal, with metal sword and maybe some eletrical lights...

IMHO the best U can do is to make the lenses transparent and put the bulb inside.

for the lenses i use red transparent plexiglass and i can use some LED's or something.

if U use LED, you'll see nothing but some light...

indeed that was one thing i was afraid of

perhaps placeing the LED's outside the helmet will do.

I saw some pretty slick looking Space Marines at DragonCon last year and your suit is looking to be in line with theirs. Good stuff!
Good luck finishing it up!

Thanks, i think i know what space marines you mean ,the pink chaos one with the hornes and the green dark angel dude and a black chaplain guy, right? If they are the ones i personally think those where realy well made but, the proportions where all screwed up. Like the helmet was WAY to big. i think we made the proportions more realistic.

Strickland In reply to kaaskop [2007-03-25 16:53:25 +0000 UTC]
That was them. I think they were going for more of a 'cartoon' look, though the minis I've seen of 40K aren't the best proportions either.
The realism is a good change and makes ya'll's suits unique. Though the shoulder pads are huge still

i knew it! yeah and those guy's cheated, they use CAD and CNC milling and we did it all by hand. and yes the shoulder pads a somewhat too big but that doesn't make the suit less awesome XD
