Very cute!
My only thoughts would be that as you applied the reference, it might have been more beneficial to translate it into your own style. The pixelated element seems to clash with the smooth lines of your little octopus, at least to me.
That might be what you were going for though, in which case I think pacman at least needs to be about 10% bigger. In comparison with your main character he doesn't look ominous at all. o.o
