End of the world? Global warming? Carpe diem? For me to know, and you to ponder. I'm interested in what you come up with, too.

Heavy heavy heavy edit. My original was a light pink rose with blue highlights and edges from a blue flash. The rose itself is actually quite small -- maybe about a quarter and a half across. Anyways, to achieve this "burning" effect, I used a massive amount of layers and fully utilized channels and masks. The grey parts were originally purple-ish until I copy and pasted a layer from the "channels" section and set it to pin light, which got rid of most of the purple and left me with a smoldering look. I ran with it and did the rest mostly manually, then finished with some color fixing and more layers for color dodging.
