I just made some for a cosplay and they turned out pretty awesome. My only problem is that the wood I used is uber heavy so I'm having to get my feet used to walking in them. What kind of wood did you use?

Uhhhhh I think it is made of pine, it is just high quality wood planks I got at homedepot.

I think the rope looks good, and I've been thinking of how to go about making a pair - and the strap was the tricky bit I was worried about, being nylon rope with that type of weave it should be nice and smooth and shouldn't chafe like people say - natural rope would do that.

yeah the rope is pretty good, and the only real tricky part is the knot, i sort of just messed around until i got one that worked.

cool thanks for that. i figured leave the rope long, tie the not to fit, trim the excess and being nylon just melt it to stop it from fravying/unraveling

id imagine theyre relatively hard to walk in, given how far foreward the front tooth is attached (theyred be no rolling action to your step). they look cool though, but the rope looks chafe-y

Those straps look like they would be extremely uncomfortable on the spaces between toes. Other then that, I think these geta are some of the best I've seen.
