Something I'd love to see some day is a Zelda game that takes place in the future. It'd open up a whole new realm of possibilities. This is my future Link design, where he was the most feared weapon of Ganondorf's army, until he discovered what the true cause of the war was and defected to fight for the other side.This is the uniform he would have worn, which would later cover with a green tunic to show his loyalties.
I HAVE A WHOLE BRAIN WORLD FOR THIS HERE STORY GOING ON IN MY HEAD.

Possible ideas:
Ganon obtained absolute power through the triforce, but was locked away in the sacred realm by the Sages. The Sheikah are a society of assassins dedicated to eradicating Ganon's followers to prevent them from unlocking the sacred realm and releasing the unstoppable force within, having been told in advance that such a day would eventually come, making Ganon and the sacred realm akin to Cthulhu and Rl'yeh.
The triforce of wisdom was broken into different fragments with their own unique shapes and kept in the possession of various members of the royal family, granting them wisdom beyond that of most people, while human nature compelled them to abuse such wisdom, reducing the Hylian Royals to evil geniuses over time. The latest member of the Royal Family to come into possession of a fragment is Princess Zelda.
The triforce of courage was also broken into fragments, one of which was placed in the hilt of the Master Sword so that it would react to the touch of whoever owned the remaining shards, and would give them superior courage and strength when in possession of said sword. The boy who is destined to gather the shards will be named Link because of his role of reuniting the fragments of the triforce.
The Sheikah have evolved into a secret organization akin to the illuminati, though they struggle to control the royal family to contain their excesses and ambitions, but their aims are noble. They search the globe for Ganon cultists with the help of their air ship, described as a Skyloft Class Air Fortress, known as the HNS Oocca, which contains the most advanced computer and satellite systems, as well as an arsenal of highly advanced armor and weapon systems, including miniature fighters called Loftwings. Likewise, the Cultists, consisting mainly of Gerudoes, search for the identity of the man who holds the power to destroy their lord, a job made easier by their low profile.
